Doing a squinty count of the floors in the photos above, I count 35 floors above the pedestal, so I think that means we have 15 floors to go. The final height, minus mechanicals, should be about equivalent to taking the portion that is currently unclad (including the concrete form system) and doubling it.

I counted about that many while standing directly across Washington Street the other day.

I counted them judging from the numbered floors marked where the construction elevators are.

Gotta keep the photos flowing:

I normally wouldn't post something like this but looking at the last page or so of photos I couldn't help but think "oh that is one sexy building" over and over again. It'll look even better once finished.

It's been a while since I posted anything here. It's up to 41 now. These are from 7/10. Part 1 of 2.

Look closely, here is the first "imperfection". A vent is a chink in the armor.

The rendering of the completed tower from the ground makes it look as tall or taller that JHP!

Looking at all these new perspectives, it's evident that this building is already making its neighbors look better too.

Its kind of a wide bastard. They should have gone skinnier and taller as people just wanted the hole filled and would've put up with anything. For instance, this thing is going to cast shadows on the common right? That got glossed over

So are you saying they should have pushed the envelope further? I mean it is definitely skinnier and taller than the Vornado proposal. Once the glass is on, I think it's heaviness will fade away.

What we should be happy about, is that the hole in the ground didn't become another 101 Arch Street.

Yes they definitely should have. People were so desperate to fill the hole and they pushed through the approval process so fast that they couldve gotten almost anything approved. Taller and slimmer would've done this building some big favors IMO

The taller it gets, the slimmer it will look. The slanted top will help. 15 floors to go.

I think it's actually well proportioned for the site. From the east and west the wide side blends into the skyline, from the north and south it's slim.

Signs went up the other week enforcing daytime road closures of Washington St except for local deliveries and construction vehicles. Since they're using Franklin St for staging concrete trucks, it looks like they're now using Washington St for staging of materials and waste disposal. The road closure is until December, so I assume that they'll be taking advantage of Franklin street for even more materials staging for fit out after the proposed topping out in October?

Also, stopped by to visit some former co-workers at 33 Arch on Friday and took this vertical pano from the 18th floor. Its proximity to 33 Arch definitely dominates the view from the west corner in a way I don't think I could've imagined.

I do too. It is much slimmer than our other towers in the 500-600 foot range.

It looked really fat when it was only 20 stories (there were some "wow this is wide" reactions before that point), but now that it's actually getting really tall, the proportions are considerably more appropriate. We're all just so used to 20 story fat stumps here that we reacted as if that was the full height.

Good way to make sure people really don't drive in the ped zone :)

A little annoying on a bike because you have to walk your bike on the sidewalk for a short stretch, but not a big deal.
