New Red and Orange Line Cars

Rode in a new one again today... they're definitely cleaning them based off the aurora of cleaning chemicals for the entire duration of my trip..
 
They're not announcing anything concerning the new cars, leaving us in the dark about what is going on. I think that it would be nice for them to tell us. Let us know something. Not complaining, but it's true.

Umm...did you read where 4 more are in-service on the tracker right now today? And we've now skipped ahead ten units from 1414/1415 to 1426/1427, meaning there are at least 10 unaccepteds on the property (1416-1425) in-testing right this second as numbers are applied sequentially upon delivery. And that doesn't count anything 1428 or higher that may have also been delivered to Wellington.


Joe Pesaturo doesn't owe us a tweet with each single flatbed delivery from Springfield. There's a pile-up they're working through, so we're going to see a burst coming into service these next couple weeks.

So...the T duly and officially announced exactly what you wanted to hear and did so hours before you complained that they didn't do so, and yet you're still digging between the couch cushions for something to bitch about?!?

This is beyond inane. What's the outrage-of-the-hour going to be 2 years from now when we're on the last hundred cars of this mega-order? Lighting up the thread every time old sets take--gasp!--consecutive turns at Park St.???

My concern is that netransit noted 1426/1427 delivered to Wellington in February 2020, but says that 1416-1425 haven't even been delivered yet, aka likely still sitting in Springfield. And if netransit is to be trusted, there are now no more cars at Wellington being tested. Now obviously netransit is not the be all end all of authoritive data but it does sound to me like there's a lot of cars at Springfield and none delivered, possibly being retrofitted with the truck bearing fixes.

NETransit has never tracked deliveries or in-testing. That info gets back-dated onto the note whenever a stray nugget falls into lap, but Rapid Transit Div. is way more parsimonious and slower on the draw than CR or bus at that. It's confirmed from third-party sources that the Green Line has been on its last five Type 9 deliveries for most of this month with half the remaining units in-testing, but you won't see any mention of unaccepteds anywhere on NETransit. They're behind even the live train tracker when it comes to picking up the testing numbers because they don't pub the info at all unless someone on the inside officially vets it. If they don't want to comment, it doesn't get listed even if nothing is stopping anyone from standing at the Route 16 overpass during the far off-peak and doing their foamer's duty to count up the CRRC bodies in the yard themselves if it's truly that pressing a curiosity.

I did not bitch! I merely made a statement. I don't come here to bitch, as you claim. Give me a little credit for trying to find it, instead of chopping my head off. You've done that to a lot of people here. I did find it, yet you do that crap to a lot of people here. *I said that I wasn't complaining, yet you assumed that I was bitching. It would have been good to read it on their website. Some have been posting things about the new trains on Twitter. But for some reason, Twitter is down, I imagine because President Trump was complaining about it or someone there. I call it as I see it. If you still think that I'm bitching about stuff, oh well. Deal with it.

Anyway, yesterday the T's Twitter spox said that there's plenty of testing ongoing and that the FMCB *might* have shared out something at yesterday's meeting about it (they didn't).
 
Is there a way to have the link to the tracker at the top of each page in this thread or at least as the 1st post to this thread? It'd be nice to able to quickly check it.

Going to archive that page as proof because it was on last months and magically dissapeared on the day of the meeting. Usually we get vehicle procurement updates in these presentations.

This is a great suggestion, but I don't see any moderator tools that'd let me "pin" F-Line's response (with 3 tracker links) to the top, but I do see a "bookmark" function that might be worth trying in the upper right of his post.

I dreamt I was in a sitcom with F-line and Javon and F-line was played by a 2 foot tall Tony Danza who spoke in such a way that it made me realize what English sounds like to non-English speakers... and Javon was played by Grover and enjoyed playing checkers n shit.
