Must be planning to test them on track 61. I wonder if that means the express track isn't sufficient capacity for the cars that are beginning to ship.
Maybe it just to test Track 61 and ensure its ready for the Red Line cars when they start rolling out?
They have begun testing them on the actual OL tracks. My son texted me a picture recently of one at Forest Hills. No passengers, but at least one train is running on operational tracks. I'm hoping to see it at some point.

Is the Wellington yard expansion done?
Will every one of the new rail cars be tested before going into service on the lines? In a few months, we will start seeing new Red Line cars arrive.
Apparently they did deliver them to Cabot for some reason.
