Ah, but my job isn't kept to any one building. I'm travelling around a lot, and I'll be getting views like this quite a bit, as my work takes me to most every major (and minor) building in downtown, Back Bay and Kendall Square now. Makes things exciting!
And two others I feel like sharing because if I don't share them now they'll probably never end up seeing the light of day. From today
this was taken at Fanieul Hall, and seeming how the subjects are putting up the outdoor furniture for their cafe the caption originally was supposed to be something like "spring has officially arrived," but after seeing their faces, it should be something more like "derrrrrp!"
Had to go to Gale International the other day, and this huge model of New Songo City (South Korea) was there. And I think John B. Hynes might be the guy to the far right..?
I hate the Moakley courthouse!! To build such a brick fortress on such an awesome piece of land was a travesty! Where was the Boston Society of Architects when the first renderings of the courthouse were made public?
kz, thanks for the pics with views that the rest of us rarely see. I'm flying up next week for a brief visit with family; taking the Silver Line to South Station and am looking forward to seeing how the Greenway is shaping up before taking the commuter rail to Bridgewater.
Considering their track record, I would guess they were trying to convince people that it would be a future landmark or perhaps lobbying for a Spartan concrete exterior.
James Hook is a true gem. It's amazing that it has managed to survive.
I remember when 1 International Place was built and it was panned by the media for all its Palladian Windows. It's one of my favorites in Boston and seems to have become more accepted over the years.
