What is this? I stumbled upon it while leaving the Yawkey groundbreaking yesterday.

I think there was a bar in the ground floor of this building up until a few years ago. PJ Kilroys or something like that. I once read that particular bar was a favorite haunt of the Dropkick Murphys.

As a young and impressionable kid, I always used to pass by PJ Kilroy's during the evening and gape at it in half horror, half wonder, conjuring up images of gritty Boston thugs smashing bottles over each others heads.

(I guess I thought the same thing about Mary Ann's...what a surprise after I turned 21 and found out all the patrons are scrawny underage BC kids with fakes)

Well I looked back in my archives and sure enough found a pic of the Old Hancock lit up.
