Porter Square Infill and Small Developments

It’s a creature of the pre-2019 zoning which feels like it was designed for a long past economic cycle.

I cannot quite put my finger on it, but for some reason this project screams "money laundering scheme".
It's because it looks like something gangsters would put up in Chisinau.

Only that would be more fun - there'd at least be a sleazy cafe called "Euro-bar" serving overpriced drinks and blasting trashy techno on the ground floor.

You haven't been in yet, you never know....

White St Pl is making progress.

It’s an elaborate performance art piece, or a tax dodge. Look closely and all the TVs in the last photo are showing the same thing.

The weed-filled planters on the patio are just the icing on the cake.

Well they seem to have put an awful lot of effort into making it this ugly. A New England Brickface clad triangle would have been better. However it is certainly better than what was there before, it's about $230 a night which isn't over the top, and it has gotten generally positive reviews for staff, cleanliness and service.

The sign on the front wrapping around that dumb hexagon is amazing.

....not to mention the stone/brick? work on that front patio.

AND the beautiful smudged orange traffic cones standing and lying at the upper left hand corner of that patio picture.

Oooh, oooh, and the chain link fence around the property!!! Chef's Kiss!

Nothing says "Hospitality" more than those beautiful public-facing touches. These people should be teaching advanced courses in Hospitality Tourism Management!!!!

Methinks those "reviews" are concentrated accounts from management......

2026's definition of productivity: Today, from my laptop in a coffeeshop, I got my AI agent to curate a social media presence and generate a bunch of product reviews! It just took a few quick prompts (and corrections: "no, no, don't make the reviews exactly the same! Vary them a bit. No no, they don't all have to talk about clean toilets!")

1996's definition of productivity: Today I did my walk-around and noticed a pile of mangled traffic cones in the garden, so I removed them

The patio is what bothers me the most. It’s a Pinterest look board slapped onto a space that fronts a traffic light and a rail corridor. The planters could provide screening from the sidewalk, but the owner just left them fallow. They didn’t even bother to clear the weeds along the sidewalk.
