Rose Kennedy Greenway

Didn't bostonbred envision a roller coaster as part of boston history themed amusement park for the greenway a few years ago? Well, a zip line is coming and I think this is as close as were going to get ;-)

I'm still hoping they will put the Ferris wheel on the crescent part of parcel 12. Would be great views of the city from 150 (or 500) feet up.

What's the story behind this? New art exhibit? Looks pretty cool!

From the Greenway Newsletter:

'Meet' our newest public artwork
We are excited to announce the completion of one our newest #GreenwayArt installation, The Meeting House by Mark Reigelman. This scaled model of the Pembroke Friends Meetinghouse appears to be rising from (or sinking into?) our all-organic lawn, and attempts to make passersby stop and engage with the work – and with each other.

The art work reminds of the housing crash, housing bubble, homeowners underwater or sunk into deep debt.

I think it would've been more provocative as a sunken office or luxury residential tower... something more "downtown" ... rather than a Lexington colonial. I'd have preferred something that blended rather than something that was glaringly out of place to begin with.

I would actually pay rent to live there. Great location, unique, Lexington meets Boston.

There's something similar to this in the Seattle Sculpture Park - a partially submerged house.

Is there a witch sticking out from underneath the other side of the house?

I thought there was a law in place preventing buildings from casting shadows! Why aren't the NIMBYs up in arms!?!

Perhaps this art installation is a subversive cartoon, bemoaning the suburbanization of a formerly urban area. :-/

i like it considerably more than 1 Beacon and McCormack bldg garbage.

I'm not sure how I feel about this...Greenway Zipline to Open in June

http://northendwaterfront.com/2017/05/greenway-zipline-z-open-june/

Steps from Faneuil Hall and spanning 220 feet, the zipline will carry riders over The Greenway from near the Armenian Heritage Park to the entrance of The Greenway’s North End Parks. With two parallel cords, two riders will be able to ride alongside each other – or race! From the top of the 30-foot tower, riders will have a unique view of downtown Boston, the waterfront and The Greenway corridor (including the Greenway Carousel).

Beer Garden open - Trillium - across from Rowe's Wharf
