Rose Kennedy Greenway

Yea looking real good. I noticed a couple trees in the courtyard between 1 seaport sq are pretty tall and the rest are small. The pictures showing the stairs leading into the next seaport sq phase show massive trees I wonder if theyre going to put some old growth trees there like the library. The courtyard between the 4 parcels at L has huuge trees too hopefully they put some old growth there too.

Look how tall some of them are now.

I mean, trees? Everywhere trees? What the hell is the place?

Those damn trees are big! and they're already blocking the Waterfront.

I love the way the Greenway is turning out (for the most part). It's definitely getting better - especially as new development has been able to incorporate it/take advantage of having it there.

That being said, and this is definitely a nitpick, the light blades to me are starting to look a little dated which is sad because I loved them when they were installed.

Great Shots---Of the Greenway. I'm assuming those shots are from Harbor Garage?

That strip could really be something special.

10 years later and it feels like it's been there forever

The Greenway seems to be getting lots of memoralbielia from places.

Its crazy that in a roundabout way the central artery was the best thing that ever could have happened to this area. Had it not been cleared for the highway, it never would have happened, especially today. It would have been cool having the tight buildings that were here, but we have lots of those, what we dont have lots of are downtown parks that wrap around the whole area from one end to the other and opening up the area to light and trees. The greenway is a massive success and just keeps getting better with time. What a great thing to have.

It really has become an heirloom civic treasure. An amazing thing to say about something that is less than a generation old.

Standing ovation to those who persevered through the criticisms of us online geniuses!

And to whomever created that GLOW (sign) exhibit, a special bravo,. Sorry to see it end in April of this year:

(BTW, as a child of 1970's Newton, I get a lump in my throat every time I see that Fontaine's sign.....)

I hate the balconies and glass patio doors/windows slapped on there. Just my personal taste, but it looks really sloppy, not integrated with the rest of the building.

I walk past it every morning and hold my nose. It looks like hot garbage. An object lesson on how few fucks were given at the BRA/BCDC during the Menino era.
