Hello everyone. As part of the site revamp, we will be building up a team of moderators. I realize Ed had asked for suggestions in his "A New Dawn" thread, but I want to do this in a more formal, organized way, since the other thread got crazy with all kinds of other discussion. If you replied in that thread, I kindly ask that you repeat the nominations here using the rules below.

We are looking for people from all backgrounds who you feel are dedicated users and contribute value to the site. The purpose of this thread is to build a diverse pool of candidates to consider. Thank you for your help!

Moderators will help keep civil discourse on the site, threads on topic and help out with preventing spam or abusive users.

This thread will have strict rules:
  1. Using names only, list everyone you would like to nominate
  2. ANY discussion other than names will be edited and deleted. Discussion will not be allowed.
  3. Self-nominations are allowed.
  4. If you are nominated and you are absolutely not interested, you may remove your name from consideration by posting "Thank you for the nomination, but I kindly decline."
  5. Nominations are just that - nominations only - Ed & I will be sorting through the list and reaching out to a number of people to gauge interest. Nominations are not guaranteed positions.

Examples of acceptable posts in this thread:

Name1
Name2
Name3
Thank you for the nomination, but I kindly decline.
Example of unacceptable post:

Name2 shouldn't be a moderator because reason1, reason2...

Let me add there are many good names suggested. I will single out two: Beeline, for his near encyclopedic knowledge of what is being built where, and equilibria, for his dogged pursuit of the transactions and business of municipal officialdom.

Should Portland and/or Maine be so fortunate as to get its own subforum, and should you decide to delegate certain subforums to their own mods, then I would nominate

Portlander

to mod the Portland and/or Maine forum.
