I like how parts of the building pays homage to the old industrial look at dominated the place before the modern era

The orange color is a contract to the other building's yellow. The blue grey top is a contrast to the other building's grey top. I don't see how it's bland when it looks different from the buildings around it. Blandness to me is more about a homogeneous looking neighborhood than a singular building. For instance, Toronto and Vancouver look pretty bland because they lack variety in their new construction. (all cheap blue glass)
 
I agree... Though I would prefer if the red panels were just a few shades darker..
