“A developer from the Big Apple is lining up something big in downtown Richmond.

An unnamed New York firm is floating a plan for a mixed-use high-rise tower for the vacant lot at 703 E. Main St., according to planning documents obtained by BizSense.

Preliminary conceptual plans show that the new tower could stand over 400 feet tall and include hundreds of residential units, hotel rooms, a grocery store, office space and restaurant/retail space.

The mystery firm is working on a development proposal that it plans to submit to the Commonwealth of Virginia, which owns the roughly 1.25-acre plot……”

KL is home to the second building in the world, Merdeka (Freedom) 118. It was topped off a while ago, but they're still doing work on the inside of the building.

Nice pictures, I've always liked the 'one giant monolith flanked by midrises' type skyline lmao. Probably has something to do with the fact that Taipei was like that when I was small :ROFLMAO:

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful city. One question I have is how is the ground level activation there? Ive never been there, but KL in pictures seems to be pretty car centric, especially for an east/south asian city. It does seem to be improving though. Is that your impression or am I way off base?
