South Boston Infill and Small Developments

^^^^^^ Are there renders for that anywhere? Between this intersection and Broadway, Southie has the potential to have two great urban squares.

I am amazed at the number of potential building sites in South Boston. I always thought of it as a densely packed neighborhood....but obviously it's had a huge number of various-sized lots that needed redevelopment. I only wish the new housing caused a dip in prices.

I like the brick infill in southie! Too many developers cheap out and don't use it there
I agree. There's a tipping point at which the texture of the entire neighborhood changes and looks more like what's happening in Cambridge Crossing, though Southie has always had a lot of wood-frame dwellings...but with detail that urbanized them. Much of the new stuff is very suburban in tone.

I think S Boston has had some of the most construction that appreciates the context around it. Much of South Boston's housing stock has been low-rise small multi-family housing. Since 2010, the median unit count for new residential construction is ~14 units, with the mean at ~24 units due to a couple larger properties pulling that up. I'm not seeing this same suburban tone outside of the large amount of parking per unit.
