Random question relating to the North-South rail link:
Has the state ever floated the idea of creating one central station in Boston? I just have this fantasy idea of the city and state completely overhauling Government Center Plaza with a central railway station and relocating City Hall to the existing South Station building. I tend to hate this kind of design ... but for some reason this seems to work on first glance. I would love to see more of this proposal.

Central Station is supposed to be near the current Aquarium Station on the Blue Line if they ever build the N-S connection.
