The transition from the arches to the “modern” section is really jarring to me.

Is that the final treatment of the facade at the tower base?

Agreed. That gray section with the vents is really ugly. And the overhang with the lights is very abrupt. Plus, there are three sections (arches, gray vent area, blue glass) that have nothing in common with each other.

Even some trashy signage/ads would go a long way there. Such a weird angle.

A cornice would have been nice, nothing ornate but something to give the break some interest and form.

I don't think I realized this project had a private residents only park on top of the concourse, bit of a shame this doesn't seem to be public...

I think it's an amenity for the whole tower, both residents and commercial tenants. Call it Class A+, looks like a great amenity when the weather is nice (note the link below is specific to the commercial section of the tower).

Early in the process, but as of right now, this crown appears to be unique in its high degree of transparency vs the reflectivity of Winthrop Sq and opaqueness of Atlantic Wharf.

Yeah, wondering about that too. Not sure how to make sense of that clear glass and this rendering:

That reads to me as opaque, similar to Atlantic Wharf. However when Atlantic Wharf went up, the glass was frosted upon installation, so I'm puzzled.
