Anyone know what's swallowing up the surface parking there? It's a lot that stays pretty full of guests of contiguous restaurants, apts. and hotel.

9 story Marriott property - same owner as the AC Hotel next door. Rumor says he's making a killing on the Encore overflow, so he's adding in a Residence Inn.
He should be making a killing. The AC is beautiful but very pricey...and the low flow toilets in the rooms tend not to flow causing embarrassing calls to the front desk.

I mean... Encore's room rates aren't exactly cheap and seems to be having an effect on the local housing market (supposedly units being turned into Airbnb accelerating to accommodate people staying for the casino). Seemingly we need more of everything. It's nice to have yet another parking lot turn over into something more productive. Now for the parking garages and decking over Wellington yard...:unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure:

This is good to see, theres definitely some potential built in here that can be easily extracted. Id like to see this whole area overall densify a lot and itd be nice to get some sort of masterplan to clean it up a bit and add some coherence moving forward.

Whoa, didnt expect brick or that it would be taller than its neighbors. For some reason I thought it was a 4 story ac hotel clone, nice. The way they broke up the massing really makes it stand out.

Huh. Very interesting massing and siting/proximities. They really should try to enclose that whole parking lot from the street.

This is smart infill and desperately-needed program. More keys near transit can never hurt!

I agree that we should be building near transit, but the part of me that used to be a regular Orange Line rider @ Wellington cringes at the thought of more people using that stop during rush hour.
