That existing apartment building (in Javier's photo below) is classic Stalinesque.Is it me, or is every large scale residential development in Chelsea/Everett (and there are alot of them these days) looking very similar?????
There are '3' existing apartment buildings in that photo--not 1. Calling them Stalinesque or Stalinist is a stretch. These units will obviously be larger and have nicer amenities, but the average brezhnevka will outlive any of these pulp buildings.I get that you mean the aesthetics, but there's also the fact that these units are probably way better than the typical unit in Soviet housing blocks...
I think in the decades to come, what you're documenting will be the most interesting.
Aside from the Sunoco, that is a very monochromatic vista. I had to double check to make sure it wasn’t selectively desaturated for artistic effect.
