Headed for approval?...
>>The Boston Civic Design Commission this week recommended approval for the project, and it's expected to head to the BRA for final approval. Click through the slideshow on the right to get a full glimpse of the redesigned Garden Garage redevelopment.

Serious question though, what is the official status of the West End? Is it run by some sort of development corporation or does the BRA still have it as an urban renewal site with all power vested in themselves?
In the BBJ article, image 2/5 shows a dotted line around some of the property - what does that represent?
And who actually owns the west end - is it all one entity, is it all one piece of property or what? The hope of long-term transformation is much greater if it isn't all owned by a single entity...
edit - link to article.. images wont post for me.
It'd be nice if someone felt like making a sloppy photoshop of that perspective from the north to include all the new construction, just to have a rough idea of how different it will look...
Are the garage and basketball courts still in use? The GC garage is still in full use, but that project is approved. In other words, even if this does get approval someday, I doubt we would see anything done here for years.
To that end, let's get a pool going on which garage will get demolished first... Garden Garage, Aquarium, Federal St, Congress St.
