The Alcott (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

"Our beloved neighborhood"? I guess even the dung beetle has a beloved neighborhood.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Oh...hope it gets built, building looks great

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

They should bulldoze the west end for the 2nd time and start over. This area contributes nothing to the city itself and only benefits the few who live there.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Ha, people are quitting the IAG over the revision. Love it. I'm sure Walsh will be very disappointed after he reads every single word of their letters.

Dear Mr. Mayor,
Please show your love for me by reappointing me to the same board that I just, in a huff, resigned from!

Dear Ms. Ryan,
Bye Felicia!

Was there as much opposition to Avalon NS literally across the street?

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

Also, loved the bit about it not having enough open space. Wonderful. Move to f_ing Weston.

I think there is actually more open space in the West End than there are buildings. It's so absurd.

From the BRA website. This is for tomorrow's meeting (11-10-2015)

Request authorization to schedule a Public Hearing on December 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., or at a date and time to be determined by the Director, regarding the Amended and Restated Development Plan for Planned Development Area No. 7, Areas F and 2A (Longfellow Place), West End Project, for the Garden Garage Project in the West End.

Is it likely that there would be one last public hearing before the BRA approves it?

This thread started in August, 2010!! It's been over 5 years now and still being talked about and the neighbors are still fighting about it. Sad to say, this seems more the norm than the exception for new construction in Boston, it seems.

Yay, artificially constrained housing construction and availability!

I wish as one of those filthy transient civically-engaged renters that I had better standing to voice support for things like this...

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

I am going out on a limb to say that this is getting approved by year-end.

I wonder how much progress the Mayor could make on his new housing goals simply by building on West End open space until it matches the average building density citywide. West Roxbury suburban neighborhoods have less open space.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

That's a lot of people not at work right now.

Re: Longfellow Place (née Garden Garage Towers) | 35 Lomasney Way | West End

I can't wait until this gets approved next month and "neighborhood" starts pounding sand.

More likely the neigborhood sues the city.
