Demolitions don't always hurt the soul.... this one does.

Unbelievable photos, and unbelievably depressing. Thanks for sharing.

How this shit got approved while the Harbor Tower Garage project wasn't perplexes me. The Harbor Garage is an eyesore, this building that they are taring down is a masterpiece.

As someone who loves old buildings and hates seeing this get torn down, "masterpiece" might be a bit too strong.

Any pre-war building is a masterpiece compared to most of the new shit that they build now.

Amazing to think we will (most likely) never see a new building with that type of load bearing brick wall construction ever built again. It's like killing off a member of an endangered species.

A smidge off topic but it relates to this. I don't think necessarily every building that they decide to keep in Boston has to be some historical landmark. The regular old generic Boston brick buildings also contribute to making the city what it is. Im not saying keep everything, but we shouldn't tear down everything that isn't a landmark. This building is up for debate but the more buildings like this that are torn down the more the city loses its character. Im not 100% one way or another, Im not saying keep every old building in the city and Im not saying tear down everything thats not a landmark. A nice balance will be great for the city. If it looks good keep it whether its a landmark or not, if it sucks tear it down.
