The industry standard is polymeric joint sand which is swept in under dry conditions, then watered in to activate it. It forms a solid seal which should maintain weed free joints for many years.
 
I like how it has no benches, or that long one that is perhaps too narrow to spread out on. You don't want a pocket homeless addiction park, of which is a real possibility now.
