UMass Boston Residence Hall 1 | Columbia Point | Dorchester

"He said the neighborhood used to be filled with families who worried about students pricing them out, but the families were priced out anyway, he said. If anything, the dorm might mean fewer students living in the neighborhoods."

When UMass Boston opened the Harbor Campus in 1973 there were fears that Savin Hill would become another Allston/Brighton.

The ol' Northeastern argument.

Reminds me of West Village at Northeastern.

Dorms are handsome and have some real warmth. The original buildout though is still a perfect place to shoot scenes for a dystopian sci-fi film: crumbling, apocalyptic, alien.

What the heck is this and what's going on with it?

An old pumping station.

What's going on with it is the same as has been going on with it for 60 years: decay.
