Video of the Day, Boston Style

Thanks for posting those aerials schmessy. They really demonstrate how chaotic the Central Artery was. At 5:00, I can't help but pause and wonder which I-90 ramps remain today. It's difficult to recognize any of them here. Also interesting to see the more vacant city skyline between the financial district and Copley. Lots of progress indeed!

I'm flattered you found my time lapse interesting. Here is a piece I put together for the product design firm I work for. It has a few more time lapse shots included within:

Damn, Sixten, you are gifted!

Great jobs on these videos. The one for 11 is a model in efficiency - - there is not one wasted moment in it and it tells the story of the company and it's vibe very effectively.

Thanks shmessy! Really appreciate that.

Here is another video showing some Boston and Quincy landmarks, along with footage of the Cape. If you have a decent camera zoom, the wharf side of the Boston Harbor Hotel affords some nice views of planes taking off and landing at Logan. The boat traveling footage was aboard the Nantucket "slow boat" last month. Enjoy guys!

"This video contains content from UMG, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."

Fuckin' A.

And then you people question us libertarian folk! *shakes fist*

UMG =/= the government

And since when are libertarians inimical to strong forms of property protection????

Copyright = Government

Physical property, almost always yes. Intellectual property, a wide variation of answers.

The Ayn Rand camp firmly believes in limited copyrights.

Most of your Mises, Ron Paul (though maybe not himself personally, I do not know), and/or "internet" libertarians lean against them.

Sorry guys. I try to give as much credit to the music artists in my video credits and titles, but they make the rules unfortunately. Here's the Vimeo link, which will show at better quality. More specifically, scenes include those listed along with Wollaston and Sandy Neck in Barnstable.

DUDE, IS THAT YOUR PIG?

I want a pig. But not ready to get one yet.

Also, fantastic video, well done. :)

Going to share it on Twitter.

Thanks BostonUrbEx! That pig isn't mine, but he was caught strolling the boardwalk at Nantasket Beach two months back. His name is Porkchop, fittingly, and is the target of some overzealous Brockton neighbors who claim he's a nuisance. I say hogwash to that. Here's a WCVB clip of the controversy:

Tony, the pig's owner, seems like a stand up guy. Hope the case gets thrown out.

Copyright = Government

It's not like the gov't forced this band to sign with a record label...(assuming that's why Content ID kicked in)

And it's not the gov't constantly lobbying for ridiculous copyright protections (I understand that it takes two to tango)

I guess if you're going to blame the government on principal, you have to take issue with the fundamental reasoning behind the Progress clause in the Constitution. Otherwise it's more an issue of bad legislation and inability to understand the internet.

Has this been posted here yet? It gives a most comprehensive overview of Boston and Cambridge circa 1964:

My favorite part is the drive through Kendall...pictures of the area pre-suburbanization are hard to come by and this really put things into perspective.

kz1000ps, thanks for the great drive. Interesting how the now modest Suffolk County Courthouse loomed large on the distant skyline with few large structures for comparison. I especially liked watching the chaos of the Government Center transformation go by.

The beginning of this 1-minute clip is from a trip out of the Boston seaport last week. The ship yielded stunning views of the bay during pullout. I'll try to get more Boston-centric footage of those days posted here later.
