Watertown Infill and Small Developments

Coolidge Ave lab replacing the Mount Auburn Club athletic facility which will be completely demolished. Alexandria and National Development bought this for $32 million which seems like a lot for a teardown and a few acres of land. It's a partial wetland with a stream running through the center of the site. https://cranshaw.com/portfolio-page/99-coolidge-ave/ Elkus is architect and it is another of their unexciting and average lab designs.

Looks good, watertown has really been adding tons of apartments for years now. Watertown is seen as one of the nicer towns as well, so its great to see. The wellesleys/westons etc should take note.

Watertown has upscale single family houses near Oakley Country Club but apart from those neighborhoods, I never thought of it as a "nicer town" for the metro. Always interesting to learn the different perceptions of others! That said, I have no expectations that Wellesley and Weston are going to suddenly start emulating Watertown :D

Wow!!! This is fantastic - - especially because both projects are replacing NOTHINGNESS. It's a win-win.

On the left is where 66 Galen Street is going:

On the right is where 23-29 Elm Street will be going:

Pretty renders, but only one of those is an free-standing building. The other two are screens on parking garages, to various degrees.

4/8 From Prospect Hill, Waltham. It's hard to tell what's happening here but it looks like that's Watertown stuff front and center.
