Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

. . . and this is my favorite viewpoint. This, Dewey Square, and from Memorial Drive (but from the right spot so as to not overlap with Millennium) are about it. This is shaping up as one of the more unremarkable and unmemorable ~700' towers in the country. I'd call it "Manhattan filler", but it's a bit too fat for that description.

The Dewey Square and then further down Congress getting into Fort Point are definitely where this thing stands most proud. From almost every other angle it's just a chonker.

From Symmes Arlington today

Looks like the extreme top will be penthouse suites!! That's gonna cost a pretty penny to stay in!!

I think its going to compliment millennium tower pretty well. It will make up for the one bad side that millennium tower has with the open roof by standing much taller and more prominent from that southern angle. South station tower will be most prominent from that side as well.

Then from millennium towers best angles from the charles winthrop center drops down a bit to let MT stand out. When viewing from back bay it will become almost like a twin with MT just a bit taller which isnt so bad, as MT is the perfect crowning downtown tower for Boston with its homage to the hancock.

The current construction status coupled with the new renders (thanks everyone for the excellent photo and render updates) have convinced me that all the iterations right up to the end result (16 years in the making) was worth it.

I'm sorry if I'm late to the party. Has this topped off? I still see what I believe are two cores sticking up. How many more floors and mechanical? What does that amount to in feet? I'm liking it. Seems like I really have to get closer to really appreciate it. I guess I'm comparing it to MT hoping it will be different enough to compliment it.

Make sure to click the blue dots to actually see the whole place. There's a wine bar in there too, and it looks like you can climb up 2-3 floors.
Yes, I clicked on all the dots. It's a nice project, but the Connector is very underwhelming in my opinion. It's a nice lobby. Also, I was sad to see no water feature rendered in Winthrop Square Park. It looked like just a circular granite bench.

Yeah! I thought there would be a water feature! 😳😗

Same. It seems like virtually every project that promises a fountain, later “value engineers” it away. Mass Mutual was also supposed to have a fountain out front, which evaporated. Very disappointing. Boston could use some more good fountains.

Kind of a waste of energy and space for more than half the year. When they aren’t in use, they have no utility at all.

Maybe it is just a pic of it without the water turned on. I hope so. It is very bland to begin with.

On that virtual tour, go outside (not the doors where Preggers is, other side) and then click on "Park 01." On that view you can see that it's bricked over and looks more like a bench than a fountain. Maybe it's one of those hidden fountains in the ground like they have on the greenway but it doesn't appear to be the case.
