This is my favorite part:
The Proponent and the BRA are parties to that certain Land Disposition Agreement by
and between the Authority and TUDC LLC and South Union Station LLC dated March 21,
2007, as assigned to South Union Station LLC and further assigned to Proponent, and
as amended by the letter amendment dated January 12, 2009, the Second Amendment
to Land Disposition Agreement dated June 29, 2012, the Third Amendment to Land
Disposition Agreement dated June 30, 2014, the Fourth Amendment to Land Disposition
Agreement dated September 23, 2016, the Fifth Amendment to Land Disposition
Agreement dated December 31, 2016, the Sixth Amendment to Land Disposition
Agreement dated as of April 27, 2017, and the Seventh Amendment to Land Disposition
Agreement dated as of December 27, 2017 (as so amended, the “Land Disposition
Agreement” or the “LDA”).

Re: South Station Tower

So what does this mean?

I feel like this project was supposedly ready to start construction years ago. I won't believe anything until I see shovels in the ground.

I think it's time for the BDPA and state to rebid this site. Maybe a competent developer could take it over.

Re: South Station Tower

Lol wow I was a day off with my guess. Nice to see something is happening here. Lets get em all going up! I wanna see cranes at federal st, south station, dalton st, north station... and lets get 1000 Boylston while were at it.

Odu- are you going to be attending this?

That is golden. (err, pun intended?)

Re: South Station Tower

where do any of you get that this means it is starting soon? The amendment requests extension of outside closing date to 10/31/2018 - nothing is happening.

All it means is that the developer has not abandoned the project.

Re: South Station Tower

Welp since its bumped anyways: Might as well get it all in 1 spot.

Re: South Station Tower

They gave up on copley sq after spending a lot of money.

Re: South Station Tower

& Columbus Ctr.

i've often wondered, 'how do you run a busy station under all the construction.

& Back Bay.

Re: South Station Tower

I honestly don't understand Hines as a developer they seem to be very successful with developments in other cities. I can see how these are more complex, but I would think a major national developer would have understood that and have been prepared for the difficulties of these locations from the start.

Re: South Station Tower

Where does this image originate from? Was unaware anyone had ever drawn up such ambitious plans to cover the pike/93 spaghetti of ramps

Those plans are very old, they’ve had that pie in the sky for years.

What I DO hope they do - and have been confused about - is that boulevard / promenade near Gillette and GE. It would be great if they actually build that, AND a pedestrian bridge that links up to beach or Essex street... so you can get off at boylston and walk all the way to fort point and across.

Re: South Station Tower

HInes has literally nothing to do with Columbus Center nor did they abandon anything on copley not sure what that is about? It also doesn’t matter how skilled you are as a developer if your counter party is a government bureaucracy that can’t get out of its own way.

Copley was Simon.

Re: South Station Tower

Copley was Simon.

I believe the original point was that Copley and Columbus center were both abandoned by developers after spending large amounts on entitlements, up to $50M in Copley I believe.
