Well, I wasn’t going to say it, but having something like a Hampton Inn here in the first place is pretty ghetto. Although on the other hand, an example of a low-end hotel in the area done right is the Residence Inn in Fort Point.

its Critically Important for the growth and transformation of the Seaport into a fully functional neighborhood of people living, visiting and working and having places to go

Not everyone who needs to stay in the Seaport for while can afford the fancy places and having them have to stay way out makes everything much less efficient

The district / neighborhood needs some utilitarian reasonably priced options
 
Completely agree, whighlander. Not everything can or should glimmer with gold. Good neighborhoods offer a mix of architecture and price points. The seaport needs more that is geared toward lower income folks.

I might have agreed if there were not already an Aloft, Element, and upcoming Hyatt place nearby.

This area is Sampler heaven.

I agree these look far too refined for a Hampton Inn, but also they're too light (and white) for the St. Regis.

The blank wall faces east towards the Black Falcon Terminal. The following photo is the side (west) which faces the Seaport District.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before.... But is there a plan to add a third wing to this building in the future? I can't imagine any other reason why the core has those door/elevator holes punched into the exposed side.

Hopefully, this blank wall will get the "Moxy Hotel" treatment which was so successful on their blank wall.
