I agree with you, but the entire building is inconsiderate.This is 259 Corey Road, taken around dusk. They just installed this illuminated sign on the building, which shines very brightly - on the houses right across the street. It seems completely unnecessary and in poor taste for such a sign in a residential area. Am I wrong to think that?

Originally approved for 33 units and amenity space on the 1st and 6th floors. The amenity space has been removed and 2 units added for 35 units including 5 inclusionary units. Building is now fincially viable and construction can be started immediately when construction permits are approved.

It does make sense for a landmark building, but I'm not sure the lot will stay in its current configuration. One of the recommendations from the A-B mobility plan (from 2021) is to re-arrange the Union Square intersection to shrink its footprint and reduce crossing distances. Doing that in conjunction with redevelopment of Twin Donuts would be a win-win, with Hamilton getting more developable land and the city getting some construction costs covered. It'll be interesting to see what happens.I wonder what the Twin Donuts parcel will look like in 10 or 20 years. Given that triangular lot, it seems like it would be a great spot for a tall, landmark flatiron-type building, maybe with the old Twin Donuts sign incorporated somehow.
