Dover, NH Development thread

I praise Dover for the amount of development its granted in the last couple of decades, but I think it's getting pretty saturated with new buildings in the 5-6 floor range. Is 8 or 9 floors too much to ask??? It seems like it's try to follow Portsmouth's lead on development in a lot of ways and could be shorting themselves out on some good development opportunities.

So there is a budding conservative movement in Dover most of which is a tax revolt... The same Facebook-Americans are also generally mad about the level of new development. So I think the council doesnt want to stir the pot.

I hate 5+1s as much as anyone... but it is true that any higher and you'd need to use something other than wood. Which costs a lot more even if it'd be much better. Not to mention needing even more parking.
 
You don’t need more parking if people are walking/biking around; at least Dover has a core well-built for that

On my last trip to the area a few weeks ago, my wife and I really liked Dover. She said, "Dover looks like Lowell if they cleaned it up."

The Children's Museum of NH was fun for a day with my fam.
