And that whole conversation was back in March, wtf, bringing it back now.Am I on Punk'd?? This has to be satirical
They are not done yet with the signal upgrades. Shutdown in late August will complete most of the missing sections (I believe). There have been delays on the Orange line multiple times in the last week due to signal issues. Didn't they just spend weeks fixing the signal system on the orange line? Why are there still so many issues? Genuine question.
Shuttle buses replaced service along part of the MBTA's Blue Line on Thursday night and again on Friday morning while crews worked to repair a problem with overhead power cables.
MBTA officials first announced a power problem between Orient Heights and Suffolk Downs just after 8 p.m. Within minutes, the initial announcement about a delay was updated with the announcement that service would be replaced by buses between Wonderland and Maverick.
That same bus diversion continued into Friday morning and MBTA officials said crews were continuing work on the catenary wires.
Its been an annual tradition for well over a decade at this point, why stop the party?Does anyone know wtf is going on with the Red Line floating slabs? seems like a nearly annual shutdown at this point (either multiple weekends or the current 10-day diversion going on right now). That can't be the normal maintenance cadence when it was initially designed. Will these things just get replaced with normal concrete track bed?
Correction: The T has been kept in a perpetual state of "deferred maintenance" starting since Weld-Celluci.The T historically has been bad at routine maintenance.
Last full shutdown for the floating slab section of the RL was 2 years ago in November 2024. They kind of held of during covid for the succession of three-day-weekend shutdowns from Harvard to Alewife. I don't recall that being a thing at all since 2019, but, it may have slipped my mind.seems like a nearly annual shutdown at this point (either multiple weekends or the current 10-day diversion going on right now).
