121 Seaport Boulevard | Parcel L2 | Seaport Square

Steel delivery/installation and the crane are finally back in action as of today, 12/19/16.

Also interesting is that the site is open and operating daily, but there aren't a ton of workers. Seems like a pretty thin crowd compared to the staffing of other projects (Seaport Square, Yotel, 50 Liberty all have TONS of folks working).

Regardless, good to see them going higher with the steel.

We'll see what happens this week. I agree; nothing for a couple weeks except the wrapping.

Given that it's Skanska, though, doesn't everyone assume they have the money to keep going? 1350 Boylston is still going, isn't it?

I happened to see a spray-painted "Skanska" note on the pavement next to Phase I of Waterside Place. Any chance they're general contractor on Phase II?

I wonder if Skanska redistributed workers and is going full steam ahead on 1350 to get renters in there next summer/fall before the Fenway and other neighborhoods get saturated with too many luxury rentals. Not an outlandish theory given they still haven't secured a large tenant for the 121 office space yet.

Interesting thought. Being a combination developer + project manager/contractor, they have the ability to take a portfolio approach and flex the workforce across sites like that...

Talked to someone who works on the site. The delay has nothing to do with Skanska redeploying workers. They said there was a foundation issue (don't know the technicalities) that had the building sinking. They had to stop work to have the engineers shore up the foundation and address this issue.

Ahhhh - thank you! Is it now fixed?

I have no idea. I am only reporting what someone who actually works on the site is saying, rather than conjecturing that Skanska is spreading their labor force out on other projects.

BigPicture -- in light of the recent alleged foundation issues [Falcon] -- should we expect that Skanska will establish for their portfolio a ..........

Yeah, but there was movement this past week, which is encouraging. They added half a floor. Six more to go after this one, by my count.
