Re: 50 Liberty

Yes! It looks awesome.

Meh...another smoked glass building with great renderings that do not reflect reality.

What angle is the first render from? Because based on the ICA in the background it looks like its from the water.

But the renders don't match, so I am very confused.

Right, I think the top render is new and the bottom render is old. Perhaps the setback was added to the northwest corner to preserve views from 22 Liberty.

I don't understand how the top render fits into the development parcel. What angle is that from?

Its from the water you can see 1 marina park drive behind it along with a placeholder between them. The second rendering above is an old version. Heres another angle.

I would argue that smoked glass buildings literally reflect reality...albeit a smokey reflection of reality. ;)

I get your point though.

Markings and pegs are starting to appear around the site.

Louis is closed, the only thing still operating seems to be the cafe on the second floor.

Every time I see these new glass boxes I ask myself how they get to pass the IECC requirements......

Sorry to see this go, it was well designed. Would the materials be (hopefully) recycled or just landfilled?

Not sure if this means they are about to repair the seawall, but it really needs it.
As you can see the sheet pillings have arrived and also parts of the piledriving equipment. Earth moving equipment was very active today.

So the below-grade parking garage stretches seamlessly under all of the buildings. It's pretty cool.
