Why is the hotel parking lot so far from the hotel? Or is that a used-car dealer lot at left foreground?

(I'm also trying to place that bridge at the right side of the photo -- is it for cars or pedestrians?)

Ron, the lot on the left is an Avis rental car location, serving Logan Airport.

The bridge is the new Chelsea Street Bridge that replaced the old single-leaf Bascule-style bridge between East Boston and Chelsea. You may recall that I suggested you avoid this crossing in your bike trip to Winthrop last year.

Thanks. Without that billboard at the right I would never have recognized this location at all. How is the new bridge for bicycling?

I'm not positive, but I think it might have its own bike lanes or sharrows. I know they definitely made the area near the bridge on the Chelsea side a bit more bike friendly.

If so, I'm glad to hear it. The Meridian Street bridge is possibly the most frightening place I've ever biked in all of Massachusetts.

LOL! I'd probably just walk it across on the sidewalks.

But with the completion of the Chelsea St Bridge, and the Alford St Bridge in Charlestown/Everett wrapping up (slowly), I wonder if the Meridian St Bridge is next for replacement?

Wow, great looking shots, UrbEx!

Here's a couple from out west:

I've riden my bike across the new Chelsea Street Bridge many times without any problems.

Cell phone pic, but I like it.

Wow! Even lined up the Fenway light towers. I love comparisons like these!

Awesome pictures/positioning, but it's really sad that we can still see the Pike from this view in 2012.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to doing more comparisons like this.

I agree, it's wasted space above it. I hope what Fenways owners (or whoever it was related to that group) bought will be put to good use.

One of the greatest views of the city. I was dying to see the fireworks from there! But ended up sticking around a party instead. No regret in that though: I'll just have to try next year. :)

Great pic, GMack.

Off of Chikatawbut Rd. in Milton/Quincy.
