It's probably on your sensor inside the camera. They sell special cleaning wands for it.
 
Yes, that does looks like sensor dust. Dust on the lens is generally so far out of focus you can't see it as a thing, just generalized lower contrast.
 
I'm nervous to try cleaning it myself and might bring it to a store to get it done... For now, I'm trying to "work around it" so we'll see how that goes, ha! If I end up just needing a new camera, that's not the end of the world either. The biggest tip to saving a bundle is to just get last year's model.
