Funny how you might walk into the lobby which is in Cambridge, take the elevator up to your floor and walk to your office which is in Somerville.

Who gets the taxes? Whichever city is in the address? Or by literally splitting it by square footage? How often does this happen?

Cambridge assumed that he had said you need to sin your border -- in other words make a spline or other interpolation of the piece-wise-linear border, to smooth it out -- so he did -- taking the points of the angles and fitting a sin curve and then initialled it

that was the final border ;)

Or it could have been the Millers River which did an mini Mississippi on its way to Boston Harbor -- your choice

I would have actually expected them to conform the boundaries of the building to the boundaries of the city precisely to avoid this problem.

To be honest it (and the entire path) should have never been on the books for the GLX in the first place.

I think a big justification for it was it'd just be spruced up emergency egress.

Thanks... I know of all the wrangling north of North Point - the extension of the Somerville Linear Path along GLX, as part of that project, was originally going to go to Water Street. That's what got nixed but nothing is final with the GLX stuff. So stay tuned.

But -what I'm talking about is the plan for North Point to continue that path from Water Street, through the main central park, to the Charles River. That was the original plan. Regardless of what happens with the GLX path, the GLX corridor will end up carrying lots of bike traffic originating around North Pt and Lechemere. This land is new land, new development - it's asinine to not build a bike road through it. Anyway, looks like they're not, but years ago, that was part of the original plan, so wondered if anyone knew anything about that component.

Staybridge will have the selling point of a scenic view of the Savmor sign.

Lot JK looks great compared to what we could have gotten. It won't be a monument to architecture, nor will it be unique. But it won't be an eyesore. Something like Assembly's Partners Light, perhaps.

Staybridge is horrid. At least that will be down the hill. Oy!

Although not commercial buildings, there are many homes that straddle the Brookline/West Roxbury line including a large apartment complex. It is my understanding, homeowners get pro rated tax bills from both Boston and Brookline

A crew began stripping the green netting from the DivCo staging building (immediately east of the MBTA Lechmere lot) in Northpoint last week. Yesterday and today they finished that and began removing siding and gutters.

Yep! That's the one ... In the past, it was used for presentations and developer meetings. It also had some partial interior mockups of the S+T condos, including a kitchen.

...and if you thought that building was ugly wearing that green cloth, you should see it now. Ouch.

They worked until 3pm today (Sat)...more grading near Zinc and arranging Jersey barriers at the staging building. All gutters gone at the latter, as well as swaths of siding and the handrails from the standard, and wheelchair, access ramps.

Stick -- an unusual, somewhat distorted -- but nonetheless very interesting perspective on the relative locations of many recent developments against a background of well know landmarks
