This thing feels like it's been dragging and it's still got another year+ before it's done, based on the original schedule.

Add-renos are usually tough, but what's in the way here?

I'm 1000% relieved that they're keeping the name Commonwealth Pier — at least for the present. I was afraid that with the renovations there would also come rebranding and renaming, most likely to something completely ahistorical and totally vapid.

Whoa!!!!! I had been lukewarm about this project ......... until I watched the video in that link. O-M-G.

The Harborwalk in the Seaport was already a solid 8. THIS brings it to a Spinal Tap 11. I had no idea until seeing the video. The pedestrian experience is incredible. This is a masterpiece of urban pedestrian design. I cannot wait to walk this. Thanks for posting this, 617.

People, check out the video in 617's link.

Does anyone know what was the original purpose for the structure above the building? From photos, it's not a part of the original Cruise Terminal. Was it added in the 1980's when this building became the "World Trade Center?" Is it only decorative? It used to hold the flags of many nations.

Actually, I did find ONE photo where some part of the structure might be original, but it's VERY hard to tell. The overhead structure does not seem to be on the other side of the building from old photos.

I'd assume either Olympic or Brittanic in that photo too. Pretty neat
