The skyline is going to go from equilibrium with the twin peaks of jht and the pru to extremely lopsided with 1 dalton and the pike parcels. This is one of the key pieces to bring all that back to balance. If you cant do it lease it to someone who can.

Can we please take tower out of the thread title, that is not happening anytime in the foreseeable future and seeing it updated on this board makes me sad.

i actually think Copley Tower + 1 Bromfield are/were/can be THE final pieces of, [ok, we now have a seriously fucking good, balanced skyline]..... to go along with all the other tall and accessories we appeaer to be getting.

I don't see boston housing values sliding anytime soon, I think it's current construction costs that are scaring them off. I think the tower will still get built eventually.

I hope you're right...

The loss of the waterfall makes me sad :(
The changes that they're making look rather plain and sterile.

Simon's only concern is retail space. You can bet there will be a plethora of sales kiosks, signs, televisions, and beautiful objects livening up the sterile mall look. Square inches for making money is what Simon has been about for a long time. I'll be surprised if they have any seating.

not sure if it has been posted, but i received a txt from the MBTA about the underground passage way to back bay station being re-opened in june (8th i think was the exact day).

i have a dream scenario lined out that Parcel 15 gets permitted,

and Copley tower miraculously returns.

....

the Garden Garage goes on hiatus,

and 65 Martha Road gets the Marty treatment: 770'....

and the Garden Garage miraculously returns for the coup de grâce.

Well, the Garden Garage sure seems to be on hiatus. So your dream is at least a little true.

Any chance we can lock this thread and open a new one for the remodel or rename this one? This is the only tower I really wanted to see happen after MT and I get my hopes up every time the thread bumps.

x2

And btw, I feel so unclean/incorrect for expressing this here, but I actually dig the nice crisp lines and of the new addition - I've restrained myself from commenting on it because it would seem blasphemous to say something about the addition and not the tower on this thread! But here, I said it!

If it isn't already shock and awe with all the cranes now up,

a rep from Elkus told me GG is getting close.

The SWC/Dartmouth entrance has reopened, featuring new, slightly wider escalators (someone can pass by now) and no slippery marble stairs:

It looks so incredibly out of place with the rest of facade now.

Well at least we know what the glass would have looked like.... Looks good too.
