Rate the New England city skylines
1.Boston
2.Cambridge
3.Hartford
4.Providence
5.(6 tied)Bridgeport
Springfield
Manchester
Worcester
Portland
New Haven

Largest cities with few tall buildings

Lowell and Nashua

I've been to everyone of those cities,New Haven for the 1st time last month,It has some very nice buildings!

Scott, You'd rate Cambridge before Hartford? I'd give the nod to Hartford simply because it stands out more (being the largest skyline in its metro area).

Mine would be something like this:

1)Boston
2)Hartford
3)Cambridge
4)Providence
5)Springfield
6)New Haven
7)Worcester
8)Manchester
9)Stamford
10)Bridgeport
11)Portland
12)New Bedford
13)Fall River

I haven't seen enough of Lowell or Nashua to rate them. I'd also have a hard time putting Portland's in the same category as the other cities Scott has tied for number 5 seeing as there really are no high rise buildings (tallest building is a church) in town.

nice building could be in Boston if I did'nt know better! should we start another thread? 1 Boston 2 Hartford 3 Providence 4 Stamford 5 Bridgeport 6 Worcester 7 New haven 8 Springfield 9 Manchester 10 New Bedford

Today brought me to Providence R.I.(capital Dist.) did'nt have time to go downtown, did'nt take many pix's as I assume people have seen Providence.

The new buildings in Hingham are all gross. It used to be such a pretty town.

Do folks there have no taste?

^The next time you're in Waltham, please check out the Lyman Estate and Gore Place. Fascinating!
