I don't get this fear. So some schlub with $5 left in his pocket is going to make his way to the casino and then what? Play penny slots for 2 hours? $5 likely won't even get you one single hand of blackjack 95% of the time at the Wynn if not all the time. There are PLENTY of places in greater Boston for the troubled gamblers down to their last few dollars. I see them daily in every convenience store lining up for scratch tickets, cigs alcohol etc. Those expecting to find a high concentration of degenerates, bros looking for fights, thieves, drug dealers and whores at the Wynn are going to be very disappointed.
If they want to gamble, but don't have any money, then they should keep their broke keister home.
And drug addicts with no money should keep their broke keister's home istead of trying to get more drugs but that's not really how addiction works.
You really want to get political on this?
Name one area in a America where a Casino added real community value?
Vegas is the only exception since it evolved from a desert community.
The only good thing that comes out of this casino is they are cleaning land up that was completely destroyed by MONSANTO which should be under investigation for all the people in the surrounding areas that got cancer from this type of environmental corruption.
Where the hell was the EPA on this?

“East Side”
Everett, Massachusetts
Not much of this parcel is “original” land existing at the time of the first colonists. Much of it has been backfilled except for some of the uplands and a major portion of land on the peninsular that once was White Island......
In 1868 New England Chemical started a plant on this site that signaled the beginning of a long history in developing chemical industry in Everett, though this particular company failed by 1872. Alexander Cochrane, a Scot, worked in the Talbot Chemical Works in North
Billerica 1849-58 before coming to Malden/Everett in the latter year. In 1872 the Cochrane
Chemical Co. purchased the trackside property of the New England Chemical Co., and by
1875, with a product worth $300,000, the company was the leading town industry
....During WWI, the Cochrane Chemical Works did a huge business in war materials and
marketed the first U. S. made H-acid.
Cochrane’s 113 acres and 50 buildings were acquired by the Merrimac Chemical Co. in 1917......
The site was in turn purchased by Monsanto in 1929 and in the late 20s the plant began a complete modernization.....
Monsanto Chemical owned the East Side site from 1929 to 1983 when it sold the parcel to
Boston Edison. Sulphuric Acid production was ongoing on the site at least into the early 70’s.
Receiving of sulphur by ship occurred at the East Side as well as aluminum work (exactly
what type is unknown.)
....Boston Edison retained the land until 1995 and their use of the parcel, if any, is unknown. O’Donnell Sand & Gravel bought the land and the easements and use restrictions remained on the deed.

Looks like they have repaired and extended the old RR tracks almost all the way to the Mystic River. Not sure what this is all about????
Wow. That is a lot of action. I guess they are serious about building a casino!
