Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Wow. What a beast. I am so excited for this project. How will I explain to my wife when we visit Boston next that I need to go to Everett to check out a casino?

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Do like everyone else. Say "we're going to the new casino in BOSTON."

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

"Honey, how would you like to go to a spa for 6 hours? You deserve it!"

Be careful, 6 hours of treatments at the Wynn spa could run north of 4 figures! Nothing will be remotely cheap in this place. I'm wondering if there will ever be sub $20 hands of blackjack on the weekends. I draw the line at anything over $10 a hand. LOL.

Well, Wynn is not going to make back the $2 Billion on nickel slots!

7 floors poured and core up to 8 or 9?

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Im not a gambler at all but this is going to be really cool having one of the nicest casino brands in the world right here overlooking Boston. Its cool our mini metropolis we have here. Im not up to date on how the rest of it is going to work, but I hope there is large event space for shows, fights...etc that would be incredible. Say we host a UFC fight and you get the aerial shot of the TD garden towers then then pan it over ending at the Wynn. Pretty cool.

Some people probably would think this looks terrible, but I think it looks awesome having the the Wynn tucked right into industrial Boston (Everett) with the old (smoke stacks) and the new (wind mill) standing side by side. In person though there is much more than this as you have Assembly right there across the water.

Just keep clearing cookies and you can read it free all day.

Not one mention of fixing Sullivan sq in the article...so depressing...prob won’t happen for 40 more years.

If you think that's bad, get a load of this. They used to keep paper copies locked in a box that you needed to put actual money into if you wanted a copy. It was crazy.

Safari reader mode always gets through for me.

hmmm alright I remember it had stopped when I used safari but I recently moved to chrome so I cant cast tv using youtube tv and the chromecast. Ill try it out again thanks.

The brown color of the glass looks classy in Vegas, here it just blends into the brown pallette of Everett lol. Anyways Im glad they used their signature tower that they build all over the world, vs that 1970s turd they had come up with at first. It would have cheapened their world brand IMO. These towers actually look great in person (speaking from a Vegas standpoint) but this seems to almost be a carbon copy of Vegas and the horizontal lighting definitely looks unique and classy in my opinion. Where else do you see horizontal lighting like this? It looks great in Vegas and it should look great here....if you only look at the tower.

Actually - yeah, he probably is going to make the $2B back on the cheap shit for the grinders

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

Apparently they built one in Macau that actually looks pretty good, not as good as the classic tower, but with the height vs width here it looks good. In Everett it was going to be short and fat as hell and didnt look good at all.

Heres how nice the interiors are that we should be getting something on par with. This is about the nicest that you will get within 190 miles of Boston.

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

In all seriousness, I don't believe this design is more dated than the current one in any meaningful way. Once you get past a certain point, dated is dated.

The old design above may be pure, unadulterated 1970s, but at least it looks like a casino from the late heyday of classic Vegas.

The current design is an insurance office in Atlanta or Irvine, circa 1995.

Id have to disagree, the Wynn tower looks like the Wynn tower. It doesn't look like an office tower because of the extreme width vs the extreme thinness. Thats a classic casino shape. It also has a slight curve to the entire structure along with the curve of the roof. This massing is instantly recognizable as the Wynn tower and since the success in Vegas there have been a few built around the world and its become an iconic structure. Building another one in "Boston" just adds to the recognizable " Wynn look" as it has been replicated many times now and when you see that shape/color you see Wynn. The bronze facade along with the curved structure is what makes this tower different. Not many towers are bronze and this along with the shape make it instantly recognizable anywhere it is. At night the horizontal lighting looks great too adding to the night time lighting of the city screaming the lights are still on come over here and party haha. This is what it is, the Wynn tower, and Im happy for Boston to have this option as another thing to add to the night life of the city. Hopefully this will spark the area around it, I know Wynn is pumping money into the area, and hopefully it is really cleaned up and many more things are built here to really make this a destination. They could make that strip that goes by have a bunch of buildings with base level retail and make it so you dont have to be in the tower at all times. Wynn is buying things here and we know he wont promote people making money off of his property so he should make it so his properties off site and interesting as well. Well have to see how it all turns out.
