This version of the tower is a far better choice than the wretched first proposal, it has a certain minimalist appeal. The ground floor, though, is a horror of weapons-grade tackiness that would give indigestion to even Siegfried and Roy.
This is awful. It looks how poor people imagined how rich people lived in the 1990's.
Imagined? This is what every Trump property looks like.
Exactly, a poor person's idea of a rich person.
Casinos are about fantasy and perception... so yes. It is basically the kind of ostentatious presentation and opulent surroundings that you would expect at a Wynn casino. Wynn was one of the first in Vegas to shift from the theme park type casino (Pirate ships, Pyramids, Ceasar's Palace, Tiger shows, Paris, New York New York... etc) to more gilded opulence like the Bellagio or Wynn.
Honestly the best part about the whole interior to me is the bronze multi million dollar Popeye statue. It tells me 1) Steve Wynn really is from Revere. 2) Steve Wynn has a sense of humor. And is willing to spend money on that sense of humor. I know I laugh every time I see it in the renders, so thank you.
I agree with this; over-the-top opulence is fun for an occasional night out. Would I ever want to live or work in a place that looks like that? Hell no. But if I'm out with a couple friends to go gambling it helps get into the fun and spirit of the whole thing.
With the future opening of the Wynn Casino should really help the traffic scenario around this area. Just remember I called this out 5 years ago how bad this was getting and our elected tards in office continue to do nothing about this.
Boston’s traffic is becoming a tourism nightmare
