Really fantastic pix, DZH. I especially love the close-ups of the facades.

DH22 Great pics,
The second building did come out much better than the first. (thank god)

The last couple far away pics the Seaport looks unconnected to the city and the skyline. This area was very poorly planned. What a shame Boston deserves better than this.

Whether Boston deserves it or not, that darn Channel is responsible for segregating the district. Not much you can do there.

Great photos. SBW is certainly on it's way.

Great pics. I'm pleasantly surprised with these buildings (given what we knew going in about floor plates, height, etc.). I think the contrast between the reflective glass and the precast of One Marina Park Drive actually improves 1MPD somehow.

I agree, 1MPD somehow looks better. These buildings miraculously compliment it.

At least a hair's breadth variation in height among these buildings would have been nice.

So they should have demolished Fort Point and decked the Channel? The developed land in the Seaport was always going to be disconnected from Downtown's skyline.

They will once the condos are built, but the current buildings all look exactly the same height.

Oddly enough, I was in the Prudential Skywalk on Tuesday and I was struck how - from that angle and perspective - it appeared that Fan Pier and the rest of the Seaport - seamlessly flowed into the financial district.

I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

Aside from the height issue, you really couldn't ask for more differences between these buildings. I think that is a very good thing. Too many planned developments try to mimic each other or carry elements from one to the next to make them related. This I prefer, and like many said, this helps 1MP be much less of an eyesore.

The far away shots really show the uniformity of the heights unfortunately and the density of the development reinforces this and makes it looks like one giant cube. But, ultimately the tightness of the development is a good thing.

The fact that they're all the same exact size makes them seem to blend together into one humungous squatty building rather than three discreet squatty buildings. It also creates a mind-numbingly boring skyline. Even a minor variation in roof heights would have worked wonders I think.

Wow, this is awesome! They make that turd One Marina look decent by masking away some of that uglyness. They make the courthouse look even more like a stub, though.

Once the residential buildings are built there will be a step up effect from the water and once the seaport square buildings are built one marina will be covered on all ugly sides and from street level youll literally have to look straight up to notice so this is going to shape up very nicely.

Wow. A whole cluster of stumps the exact same height. That took some real urban planning.

Looking at that picture does that area no justice. The only real innovation in the innovation district will be how fast or efficient a moving company can actually be, by rushing everybody back to the financial district or Kendall Square.

I'm not sure if Vertex still left a foot-print in Kendall Square but without those tax-breaks Fallon would still be wooing prospective tenants to this area.

Its very pathetic that IP was built in the 80's and continues to be Boston's center piece for the city of Boston. I like IP but seriously we should have had a couple more towers of significance built throughout the city.

If there was such a market, it would have happened. As it is, several large swaths of International Place are vacant.
