Fan Pier Developments | Seaport

im actualy kind of liking it from this angle... and i know it wont stay, but i agree about the red looking good.. kinda wish they didnt have to take it down.

At this stage, anyway, it's looking better than I imagined. Which isn't terrific, but pleasant enough.

^ agree better than I thought it would come out, though still not finnished!

As most everyone has stated...the design is bland but it is looking a bit better than expected. The glass is looking nice. If more glass buildings ever get build on Fan Pier, hopefully they are more ambitious, but this one at least tells you it is modern.

It screams Kendall Square rather than 'hot new waterfront property' but it's small, compact and pretty harmless.

Two Financial Center on the other hand is an abomination of design and ambition. I don't care if it blends in or not.

i think it is funny that with the posting of one pic, the tides seem to be turning a little on the public opinion of the building.

Not I.

It's still a graceless box where a fine-grained street grid should be.

When you set your expectations low enough...

I think it looks good with the scaffolding on it. Can we keep it?

Man you guys are harsh. It's not THAT bad, is it? Do you like this more or less than the Northeastern dorms?

another shot from today I don't hate this building was just hopeing for more, yes better than NE. dorms

yes better than NE. dorms

I guess that's the new "better than a parking lot".

At least this looks like a breath of fresh air next to the squat, fortresslike courthouse.

IMHO I think this is nicer than the Northeastern dorms. This is just boring, the dorms are offensive.

yes, but at least it's trying to be squat and fortress-like. that fan pier thing doesn't have any opinion of itself at all.

This shot makes me wish the architects had incorporated some brown I-beams in the exterior, maybe along the horizontals rather than the precast, or framing the big glass sections. Or along the street where that lobby is.
