Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

^^Very much so... There have also been a sizable group of hate mongerers who endlessly flail away in the Globe as to the endeavor of building in the Back Bay and DTX being all but impossible. This is very likely due to their helpless state in life.... That engineers couldn't possibly solve the challenges of reaching our granite bedrock reef covered over by a mid-19th Century, garbage-filled salt marsh.

I'm not usually afraid of heights but this porch looks scary lol.

Where is that video source? Id like to see it, its probably a render goldmine.

Stick -- 1 Dalton looks significantly taller than the Pru in the lower render

It seems to have gained about 100 feet as its well above 800 feet and climbing to the 900 top of the antenna mast

It should be 756', plus looks like a 100' antenna on top (according to FAA) so 856' total.

Odurandia -- as opposed to some of the filling -- the Back Bay filling is good clean gravel directly transported from where the retreating Glacier had left it in Needham

This was all made possible by the invention of the steam shovel

and of course the railroad which was built to transport the fill to the site of the filling

see for example

Ice Age Gravel used to create the Back Bay land

The material used to create most of the Back Bay land was gravel from Needham. Train lines were laid down for the specific purpose of moving all this material into Boston. Special rail cars were even designed to efficiently dump this sand and gravel out the side of the car. (You can see much of this train line by riding the MBTA's "D Line - Riverside" Green Line train, which roughly follows the same path that these gravel trains used.)
Questions to Explore:

Why Needham? Needham provided a nearby source of inexpensive gravel and sand. Several hills were destroyed to move all this material into Boston! Why did Neeham have so much of this material? Glaciers! For More information, see "Glaciers in Boston"

I believe that the FAA total included crane working height, not an antenna. I have not seen any renders with an antenna.

Here's the 756' to the highest point:

Here's the 920' for the crane:

It probably doesn't show the antenna because it isn't technically part of the structure. (ie it isn't part of the "official height") But it looks like there will be one in the end.

I'm curious what need there is for another large antenna right next to the Pru. Is there enough demand that the Pru is turning away antenna tenants today?

The hancock has a bunch of antennas too but you dont really notice theyre there. Hopefully its the same here.

OK, I mis-remembered. Thanks. Interesting that they never show the antenna -- marketing move perhaps as it might degrade the sleekness of the tower?

No he is talking about the antenna that will be on the top of One Dalton once it is completed.
