Doesn't seem very likely to me. Apple doesn't go around filling skyscrapers with office workers anywhere, let alone in Boston. They only have a few dozen desks in Kendall as it is. Why would they suddenly need space for (presumably that many since we are talking "anchor tenant" not 1-2 floors) thousands of employees in downtown Boston? They are currently building a whole new office park campus in Cupertino for 12,000 employees.
I'm with you on this.
Maybe Apple has other ideas or sees something with TRUMP now in office that will completely change the tax structure that they will need to bring back a whole slew of global jobs to this country.
One thing is for sure: MIT is the reason all these corporations are relocated or just having a presence close to Cambridge and Boston. Cambridge commercial rent has surpassed Boston's at this point. There is no more places to build in Cambridge if you are looking for 200K+.
