One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

Re: One Canal (formerly Greenway Center, Bullfinch Triangle)

The massing is great for the location. I'm waiting with bated breath for the facade, but the way this changes the feel of the area will make up for (almost) any poor facade choices.

Nice!

Thanks guys! It's fun watching it go up, even if it will block our view of the Old North Church. Guess we could just move to One Canal to get it back. :)

My gf lives in the north end so I see this thing a bunch..... it sure seems like its taking long enough. No glazing at all? Seems very slow.

Re: One Canal (formerly Greenway Center, Bullfinch Triangle)

As someone who drives on I-93 South under this thing everyday, I'm satisfied if they take all the time they need to make sure this building doesn't sink into the highway.

Complicated building sites like this will have a longer timeline due to unconventional construction methods, but I'm okay with that. I think the massing is great so far. Love the balconies.

Hopefully this is topped at each of the varying heights. The proportions/stepping down effect is quite nice as it stands.

Thanks for all the pictures, BeeLine.

Agree with you Downburst, but it will be topped out flat at 10+ floors.

Re: One Canal (formerly Greenway Center, Bullfinch Triangle)

That was a really awesome time lapse!

I have a view of the construction from my desk, so whenever I need a mental break from my work, I just stare off into the distance and watch the cranes slowly lower the beams into the site.

If I stay here long enough, it'll be a near front-row seat for so many big projects going on in this area. This is already filling in the void really nicely.

How're they handling the T substation, by the way? Looks like they're building around it; will they be destroying the original structure (and retaining its contents) once it's fully enclosed?

The tower and shopping arcade between Quincy Market and the Greenway reall need to go.

I was in the area today. I wasn't thinking at the time, but I believe the facade is visible from Causeway. If what i saw was what i saw, it was similar to the Victor.

I'll be back down there Monday and I'll get a pic,

What really needs to go is that municipal vehicle parking lot right on the Greenway

Re: One Canal (formerly Greenway Center, Bullfinch Triangle)

The steel on this building is incredible! So many fun angles and interesting spaces that they've created. Anyone know if the courtyard that they're creating on the inside of this building will be public or people-friendly? Or is it just going to be a driveway?
