One Canal (formerly Greenway Center) | Bullfinch Triangle | West End

It stinks that such a prime spot was whiffed on so badly.

I spoke to a leasing agent from this project today. They expect building completion around April and for the first tenants to move in May 1st. They're extremely excited about the project, and said the biggest hold up was the snow storms last winter.

P.S. - 1000TH POST!!! :)

Nothing about the retail???

Nothing about the retail???

She said something about a wine bar going in. I'm sure if you go to their leasing office (on Canal Street) or give them a call, they'll have better information.

There was a Globe article about the wine spot if someone with more patience than me wants to google for it.

City Winery is taking up all of the retail space in the One Canal building. The location will take up 20,000 sq ft on the ground floor and 10,000 sq/ft in the basement. It is scheduled to open in October 2016.

This is awesome. They have these in some other cities...will they have a music space in this one as well?

I have to say, from the north side of the govt ctr garage/final segment of new chardon st, this looks pretty good. I haven't seen it in person from the vantage that most pics here have shown it, where it - at least in the pics - looks really blocky and bulky.

It will be nice when that empty plaza on the right gets filled in with the Congress St. Garage redevelopment.

Adolf Loos may be right and ornament may be a crime, but I still prefer it to large blank panels.

There is plenty of "ornament" on this thing ... its just crappy ornament.

I get your point, and you are correct, but look at the building next door. That's the kind of ornament I was referring too. You almost never see that kind of detailing on a Modern (or modern) building and I miss it.

This crap with the windows is misguided, offensive and embarrassing.

It's jarring and not great, but at the same time all I can say is that in person, it doesn't actually look that bad. I agree with the poster who noted that once the plaza is filled in there will be much more to engage the eye.
