Parcel JK | Cambridge Crossing | Cambridge

Re: Parcel JK | NorthPoint | Cambridge

Steel for parking decks -03 and -02 is moving quickly (filling at the same time); probably a week or two to see -01 and then street level steel.

The core is almost complete.

———

SUPPLEMENTAL: Shadows obscured the site very well last night; steel is present above street level

This is the state of the north end of Philips' building on Divco's Lot JK:

Re: Parcel JK | NorthPoint | Cambridge

Lot JK cross beam steel is at Level 02, relative to street, or Level 05, relative to basement pour (and lower three levels assembly from a month ago):

*I experienced oddness with "L" vs "H" bbcode size designators for this posting. Mods, if "L" didn't append, please feel free to scale (and apologies).

After the bathtub pour, concrete began in late January, with the first steel connecting the parking decks a few days hence.

As of 30 March, steel made it beyond the entrance level on the north portion of the building (so, plating is now appearing between levels -03 and 2):

Late Friday, another crane arrived to add weight to the north crane:

As of 2 April, steel (and plating) has made it to level 3 on the north side, and commensurately higher around the site. There was a reasonably lengthy concrete pour on the south side on Saturday (as well as a lot of steel work). I'll try to update the images tomorrow.

Fantastic photos and descriptions. Thanks a lot for keeping that construction log!

Re: Parcel JK | NorthPoint | Cambridge

I smell a seaport pt 2. coming with wonderful public spaces, plentiful retail, and good urban scale, but with great transit.

Not as much density, and I don't think it will be anywhere near the seaports retail.
It'll be nice, and better than the original plan. But overall it'll be underwhelming, and a missed opportunity. Particularly with the transit coverage.

Re: Parcel JK | NorthPoint | Cambridge

I think this whole area is huge missed opportunity. Its going to be the West End Pt. 2. The seaport, despite its whiteness will be better

"We don't want this to be Seaport II".

We heard that at DivCo meetings...
