Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

Looks like the same kind of utility hole that was dug out for the Jacob Wirth tower (it was toward the back on La Grange).

So is that hole where the core will go, and then the steel will just rise from the ground?

Anybody know the estimated date that this will start going vertical?

Still hard to believe that a 30 story tower (+w/mechanicals) will rise in this spot! It will change the look of that area completely...and in a good way. OMG, how in the WORLD did this get by the NIMBY's?

I think the neighborhood community helped to plan how tall the buildings along Boylston would be so it "got by" because the neighborhood was really involved in the planning if I remember correctly.

Plus Samuels has a really good relationship with the neighborhood and is much more trusted than some random developer.

Great aerial:

Right, and the hole in the center of the site has been dug out over the last couple days. The site looked the same for months until then.

I'm not sure this has been posted here, but there is a promo video on the Birch Capital site:

This video makes Boston look like a place where all you do is eat at fancy restaurants, get drunk, and go shopping. Also, the "aerial" shots conveniently leave out the projects across the street that have already been built as well as the Burger King site.

^I liked how they went from the Hancock to the Pru to the Pierce. But yeah, Boylston Street was altered to highlight this one.

Got these shots today. They are excavating in the center of the site now. It looks like they are working the area where the core will be. The other hole, on the east side of the site , is for the underground access to the garage next door.

Great to see it up close. Thank you, BeeLine!

Walked past the site today for the first time since September and I noticed that they'd been making some progress on this. Can't wait for it to start shooting up.

I happened to speak with one of the Skanska "laborers" near the 1350 Boylston project yesterday and he mentioned that there will be a 1500 yard pour at the Pierce Boston site starting this week. It sounds like a lot, given that I don't think the full foundation is ready to pour (yet). I am not sure if that's for the full foundation or just an initial pour.
