Portland International Jetport | PWM

It looks like AA is axing PWM-LGA. No flights loaded after November. Not clear whether it’s going to be summer-seasonal or if it’s gone for good.

Also looks like UA PWM-DEN isn’t going year-round. At least not this year.
 
F9-Frontier cuts over 42 routes, PWM-CVG,PHL,ORD part of the cuts all end 8/11 8/12. These are seasonal and may be back for 2025 depending on the dartboard.
Breeze will seasonally end JAX, ISP, HPN, at the end of August
 
Abruptly cutting summer seasonal routes in early August isn’t really a good sign.
 
PWM's busiest day of the summer season so far with 52 departures and 30 of them mainline aircraft. For comparison purposes: MHT 24 flights, 11 mainline. BGR 14 flights, 6 mainline. BTV 28 flights, 7 mainline.

WN recently opened a crew base at BNA and they've been scaling up operations there. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back as a full daily next year and maybe potentially go year-round at some point.

New weekly service to Sarasota starting on November 20th from an Ishrion Aviation article released yesterday. Still not one destination to Florida's east coast which is really puzzling to me.

They already serve TPA and they're adding SRQ???? I realize the Sunshine Skyway Bridge is the stuff nightmares are made of, but (I just measured) those two are only 40 miles apart. And then it's 77 miles (as the crow flies) from there to Fort Myers which they also serve. I can only imagine it's got to do with available slots or something.
 
Elite Airways old routes. SRQ did well as did VRB. SRQ is less congested and close to Clearwater Beach!!! Alot of Mainers travel to SRQ and this route by Breeze is a possible reaction to PSM Allegient announcement to SRQ.
 
I know Elite served MLB and VRB for a period and Breeze had a continuation flight to JAX but no current service to DAB, MLB, PBI, FLL and MIA while the west coast is blanketed makes no sense. Do Mainers dislike the east coast of Florida and I just never received the memo?

PWM-TPA has actually been a very well performing route for Breeze with loads consistently above 85%. Nice to see more lift to that area.

I’m thinking VRB might be in the works too

I’m also pleasantly surprised to see that RDU has gone year-round. I had assumed it was a seasonal route.

It's stunning! But when you receive $2.15 BILLION for a brand new terminal you can incorporate those type of design elements. There is a huge gap between the available funds for the 33rd busiest airport in the country and the 99th. PWM is fortunate to have secured money for the runway rebuild, taxiway renovations and the upcoming three gate expansion that only adds 3700 SF to the actual terminal but will include a pet relief area! ;)

I would say that the Burger King "Home of the Whopper" banner and the fixed hand sanitizer dispenser definitely puts you in the big leagues when it comes to modern terminals! Kidding aside, the high ceilings, use of glass, wood beams and a generous concourse area for an airport of its size.
