Post Cards of Boston 1900's-1990

Okay, blue stripe- Ho Chi Minh is looking (our) left. The long strand is his beard and you can see the tip of his nose.

"those were the days"

Words made famous by Archie and Edith Bunker!!

BTW, the green patch in the North End. What is that?

Thanks Padre, I didn't realize that Copp's Hill was so large a space.

Quincy's oldest and best highrise.[

I liked the "Boston in the future" postcard so much that I put it up on the Boston Herald's Getting Real blog. I hope you don't mind.

Some things never change: tacky trolley tours, the boredom of Kendall Square...

I raided CardCow's website last summer... here's the State House as it was in the 1890s:

Fabulous. I particularly enjoyed the pics of Kenmore Square and Copley. They keep re-doing both.

Boston buses and streetcars should be orange.

I believe they were officially colored "orange and cream".

No idea if there was any significance to that.

Oh, TOC brings such beauty to Boston Common!

Also, the Statler building in Buffalo looks similar to the Park Plaza in Boston. You'll have to take my word for it, I deleted all my photos.

WOW. Would GC be any nicer if it was a lawn?

At first I thought that was a drawing of the UMass-Amherst campus.
